About the set: Well, after much sifting through my collection of music, I’ve ended up playing all vinyl for this mix. Partly because it’s been mentioned that it would be nice to do so, considering 1995 was still definitely a time for vinyl, but also for myself to get a more realistic feel for that time again. I didn’t want to play tracks that were too full on, so instead I’ve chosen tracks that are tough and acidic to try and keep it interesting, but above all, danceable. Other important elements for me were to find tracks that I haven’t recorded in a mix before, and also to follow online what the other DJs are playing so we had no clashes of tracks! This mix was unplanned in its arrangement; I was at the decks one day and started to play some records I had out. Most of the time when I play out my sets are made up as I go along anyway. I work better sometimes when I’m not thinking too much about it all. This whole exercise, though, gives me a much greater understanding and familiarity with my music. It’s a 100% positive experience for all of us 🙂 I wish everyone a wonderful trip at the GGP4 !! 😀
