Global Goa Party: The Mixes

by goatranch

Welcome to the Global Goa Party!

Well, here we are, folks – all 10 mixes for your downloading and grooving enjoyment. Let it rip.

The Mixes

Each DJ’s mix is approximately 90 minutes in length and they range from 208MB to 242MB in size. The ID3 tags in the MP3s – as well as the filenames – are such that they are easy to sort for proper listening order. For tracklists, please see Global Goa Party 1: The Tracklists.

20:00 - 21:30 (8PM - 9:30PM)    DJ Draeke Italy
21:30 - 23:00 (9:30PM - 11PM) DJ Nonsense Spain
23:00 - 00:30 (11PM - 12:30AM) Kundabuffer USA
00:30 - 02:00 (12:30AM - 2AM)   DJ Basilisk Canada
02:00 - 03:30 (2AM - 3:30AM)    Infra Sweden
03:30 - 05:00 (3:30AM - 5AM)    Spork Norway
05:00 - 06:30 (5AM - 6:30AM)    Jim Appleton UK
06:30 - 08:00 (6:30AM - 8AM) Marsh USA
08:00 - 09:30 (8AM - 9:30AM) The Tree Tribe Singapore
09:30 - 11:00 (9:30AM - 11AM) Boork USA

Single-file Download

While each mix brilliantly stands on its own, the real magic manifests when the whole shebang is listened to in one uninterrupted, glorious gravy shot. However, at over 2GB, this file may prove difficult for folks to download. Give it a whirl if you wish, and resort to the single-file downloads if it breaks on you.

[Marsh: Sorry, switched to WordPress hosting in December 2010 and they have a max file size of 2GB and the full party mp3 is a little over 2GB; anyone got a spare 2GB and some bandwidth willing to host the file? :)]

I’ve found that adding this file to the playlist of the latest Winamp version (5.581) crashes Winamp, but it will play fine in Media Player and Quicktime Player.

Digitally Imported Broadcast

Remember, the DI.fm Goa-Psy channel will be broadcasting all 10 mixes tomorrow, July 17/18, 2010 starting at 2PM EST.  If you can’t download the mixes, be sure to tune in!

Thank You

I would like to take one moment to extend a huge thank you to the DJs for bringing this idea to fruition. Each of them has absolutely nailed their sets, and the different styles and vibes they’ve brought to the party truly make the whole greater than the sum of its parts. Thank you, guys – you really have given us all a wonderful gift.

Hey please can someone tell what is the link that we need to click to get the set downloaded as I m facing issue getting the link.

    Please Advice

@Boulevard: The individual mixes are available via the links for the time for each mix (e.g. “20:00 – 21:30”), and the single-file download link is under the ‘Single File Download’ heading, titled “Global Goa Party – Love Gravy 2010”.

WOW! What an outstanding party. I listened to all I could during the DI broadcast, and I’ve heard all the parts I missed thanks to the download links.

I especially want to express my gratitude to Marsh for the morning mix and for the posting at DI describing the philosophy of it. Those are the kinds of nuanced musings I wish more DJs would share! Cheese on!!!

So glad you enjoyed it, nutjob. It’s because of nutters out there like you that we do this (well that, and the music kicks ass). 😉

I just wanted to add my thanks for this fantastic piece of work. It really is a journey of discovery. I’ve listened through once fully, and am working through it again. Seems I keep discovering one or another gem.

It’s hard to believe that despite being 15 hours long, it could be twice that easily if more tracks were included from the “big” artists.

Awesome stuff, and keep up the great work. This is truly the place to get your Goa fix!

Wow I remember some of these DJs from the early days of the 604 list! What a flashback, not just of the music, but the characters from back then. Nice to see everyone!

Great stuff. Tracklisting .txt’s seem to be broken though?

  12. Jan 25 2012

Ah yes, sorry about that! I switched the file hosting to WordPress from Network Solutions and those didn’t
make the move. Will correct soon, thanks for the heads-up. 🙂

    Marsh… hrm. tracklists *cough*

  14. May 21 2012

Sorry for the super late comment. Anyone have cuesheets for any of these sets? Individual set would be preferable, but I can certainly split them into sets from the whole party 🙂

All the tracklist links are broken – would you mind putting em back up?

  17. Jan 22 2013

Hey guys, thanks for your patience on the tracklists. I just got my old computer back up and running on Sunday and believe I have the tracklists in *.txt format on that. I will check tonight when I get home from work. Sorry for the delay…looks like I said I’d get them posted about a year ago – ha! 🙂

  18. Jan 22 2013

Sorry guys, ran out of time tonight – track lists tomorrow!

@Marsh: As to hosting the large single-file download: If I had enough bandwidth I’d gladly host it for you, but such a large file would clog my pipe tight. Have you considered putting it on dropbox? Alternatively, you could pack it into a multi-part RAR or something of the like to get around the WordPress size limit…

  21. Dec 10 2013

@Steve: I sorta forgot all about the single-file super-party-mix…oopsies! Yes, I should split into multi-part RAR. I need to get GGP2 and 3 into a single file and do the same, perhaps by Christmas? Will update the GR Facebook page when I get ’em up.
